1Description
Each driver undergoes a power on test before shipment to avoid damaging the motherboard.
Silent Operation: The TMC2209 incorporates Trinamic's StallGuard technology, allowing for imperceptible stall detection in most operating conditions. This helps ensure smooth operation and reduces noise in both the motor and mechanical system.
UART Communication: The driver supports communication with the main controller via UART. Through UART, users can monitor and configure various parameters in real-time, such as current limits and microstepping.
Microstepping: The driver supports up to 256 microsteps, enhancing motion precision and smoothness by increasing the motor's resolution.
Current Control: The TMC2209 features dynamic current adjustment, allowing the driver to adapt its current based on actual load requirements. This helps reduce power consumption and minimizes motor heating during light or no-load conditions.
Protection Features: The driver includes built-in protection features such as overcurrent, over-temperature, undervoltage, overvoltage, and short-circuit protection, enhancing system stability and reliability.
Sensorless Homing: Utilizing StallGuard technology, the TMC2209 enables sensorless homing, eliminating the need for additional sensors during the homing process.
Step/Dir Interface: The driver can also be controlled through the traditional Step/Dir interface for ease of integration with existing systems.
This driver has modified the switch and pin length compared to previous versions, saving some costs. However, each driver undergoes pre-sales power on testing to ensure that it does not damage the motherboard, allowing customers to use it with confidence. The result of driving without power on detection may be that the loss of a motherboard is not worth the loss.
